RURAL AREAS TOOK OVER AMUA ACCELERATOR
It has been taken as a normal reflection of the most opportunity being utilized in the urban areas due to various reasons existing. One of them being the quick access of the various information on different opportunities regarding young people. But for the AMUA Accelerator case it has been notable to be different due to more than half of the ideas submitted being coming from rural areas.
The call for the ideas submissions was officially opened from 22nd March 2017 till 12th May 2017.The ideas were submitted by individuals and as a team as well. The ideas were submitted through AMUA Accelerator website through special designed form. The form which was used was clear and simple to fill as to give users flexibility and less time consumption.
Mr. Damian Mapunda representing Mkwawa arts Space from Iringa region presenting in details on how he will use Arts to provide SRH information on how to solve SRH’s challenges to adolescents and young people.
373 of the total ideas were submitted and hence beat our target of collecting 200 ideas. We do acknowledge the support of the media especially community radios who were engaged much to publicize the AMUA Accelerator call of ideas submission by giving rationale as to why young people are important to take part on this process.

51% of the ideas submitted targeted the provision of age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality education to adolescents and young people. This proves that there is so much needs of the proper age-appropriate SRH education to the majority of adolescents and young people in Tanzania.
