On the left, Hank, a handsome man with dark hair and short facial hair, wearing a suit, a serious expression upon his face. On the right, Ryan, younger man with light brown hair and clean shave, chagrin upon his face.

Ryan sighed as he stared wistfully at Hank — his boss. They were all at a company retreat. Samantha stood beside Ryan, staring at “Hank the Hunk” as well. In his perfect business suit, the department manager sat at the bar, staring into his brandy.

Sam scowled. ‘He’s going to regret drinking so much when morning comes.’

Ryan barely paid her any mind. She was their floor’s secretary and Ryan’s friend — make that colleague; no one at work knew how Ryan felt about Hank or had for years. Hank, for his part, was always curt with Ryan, as he was with everyone. The tall man knew the ladies pined over him yet never dated any of them. Not that the company would allow it anyway, not anyone directly under his supervision.

Hank looked up, chinkling the ice in his drink. He looked over to where Ryan stood. His jaw set tight and he turned back abruptly, taking another sip of his drink. He glanced back again, glaring, before contemplating his brandy anew.

‘Did you see the way he looked at you?’ Sam whispered, curiosity in her voice. ‘What have you ever done to our boss to get him so riled up like that?’
