Once a year, we [people in paid employment] have to go out of our way to buy gifts for people in our office. We usually don’t know much about the person except that he’s the guy who brings the weird smelling lunch.

Last week, at our office, Secret Santa was announced, so we went to Google to epp us.

We found nothing!

Santa is disappointed

Not even on Jumia and Konga or all those other online stores, which didn’t make any sense to us, but whatever.

Even after Lade tweeted about this, we still didn’t find anything. [We stumbled on one this morning though].

Anyway, we decided to do our own. We tried to stick with only things you can get online AND for under 5k.

1. Personalized Mugs from Printivo [N1200 — N2500]
You can put any design you like and they deliver 3–5 days within Lagos and 5–7 days outside Lagos.

2. Backpacks from Daltimore Collections [From N2500]

3. Gift Items From the Nik-Nak Store [From N1500]
The Nik Nak store has a variety of cute and functional items from as low as N1500.

4. Organic Hair and Skin Care Products [From N1000]
There are many retailers of organic skin and hair care products. This is a great choice for the naturalistas you know. There are many butter and oil options from @abebiorganics, Natural Nigerian, Kinky Apothecary, and @Ajimi

5. Accessories from Haute Signatures [From N2,000]
We especially like the shades, although they sell a number of other products including chokers, bags and clutches. For the Fashionista.

6. Gift Items From Hingees [From N1000]

7. Jewelry from @Jewelry_boxng [From N2000]
Some items are pre-order only and some can be ordered “on the spot”. Delivery is nationwide.

8. Fun Socks from AllSocks [From N1200]
For the sock aficionado.

9. A 3-Month Apple Music Subscription [N1800 — N4200]

10. A 1-Month Netflix Subscription [N3,200 — N4,800]

UPDATE: You can get books from @theBookDealerNG. From as low as N2000

Other things you can get include novels, fancy jotters, fun stationery which you can get from almost any bookshop. Be sure to put your gifts in fancy wrapping to make them look nicer!

Remember, it’s the thought that counts.

If you think we’ve missed anything, please share with us on twitter @deaduramilade and @earlyattoh
