I Regret That I Didn’t Take Ownership of My Life Sooner

I grew up hearing that I would deeply regret not taking my elders’ advice. That I would regret it if I didn’t build my life according to their rules.

In fact, ‘building my life’ implies more agency than women were taught to have. Women were not empowered to ‘build’ their lives.
