The Toll of Beauty in a Misogynistic World

I finally had enough.

I was a college student walking to class on a busy street that emptied onto the university’s main entrance. Droves of students were both entering and leaving. Street vendors sat on folding chairs next to showcases filled with trinkets. If I remember correctly, the sun was out- as is usually the case with the fairly consistent Bay Area climate.
