Power of Money

Couple of years ago I went to see my cousin’s new place. She just bought a new house and a few of us were in the kitchen talking and I was sitting on a bar stool by the counter.

The bar stool I was sitting on was quite nice — there was nothing amazing about it, it looked simple, felt comfortable and it seemed to go well with everything else in the kitchen. Somehow its price came up in a conversation. I wasn’t thinking anything of it before but I assumed it would be max $100. One relative asked my cousin how much it was (there were four) and she humbly replied $1000.

Now when I heard the amount I had two immediate thoughts. My first thought was simply damn. My second thought — hmm my butt suddenly feels 10x more comfortable.
