Assumptions Are Dangerous

Be careful with them.

This originally appeared on the For The Interested Facebook page.

Assumptions are dangerous.

They enable excuses.

When we make assumptions about how things work, who people are, and what we’re capable of, we lay the groundwork for our own excuses.

“I could never do that” is based on assumptions.

“That won’t work” is based on assumptions.

“It’s not worth it” is based on assumptions.

But assumptions aren’t facts.

So be careful what you assume.
