We all have something to be grateful for, no one is right, not to be grateful for at least one thing in life.

Just being alive and existing is enough to look up to the sky and say:

“God, thank you for creating me.”

We may be having the worst moments ever, but if you are reading this, it means that you are alive. And if you are struggling with a difficulty, trust God, that everything will be fine.

You need to have faith.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated in many parts of the world this week.

And today, I want to share with you 5 quotes that I hope will inspire your life, to continue giving thanks for your blessings.

I. Meaning, peace and vision for your life

Being grateful for things and experiences, must be part of our philosophy of life. When this happens, our present brings a very pleasant sense of peace.

Our mind is kept busy with the positive things and as a result we can see the future with hope.

Melody Beattie the well-known American self-help book author once said:

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

Melody Beattie

Look at the past with gratitude, since thanks to it you have learned many things that have helped you in your present.

Enjoy the peace that being grateful gives, you will be a more positive person and it will help you manage your present much better.

And look with vision and hope towards the future, and do not be discouraged by anything, or by anyone. Every day brings a new dawn!

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

II. Value what you have

Many people in their eagerness to acquire more and better things, stop valuing the things they have already obtained. And this is just a way of expressing being ungrateful.

You cannot stop giving the value that you deserve to the things you have in your life today. Today they are part of your life, but before they arrived, you didn’t have them.

Epicurus, the ancient Greek philosopher once said:

“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”

Epicurus

What makes our character great is being a humble and grateful person. This should be part of your life, if you want new blessings to come to your life, value what you have.

You are the architect of your character, and if you want to become a better human being, you need to value and look with gratitude at everything that is part of your life.

III. Make gratitude a daily habit

Sometimes things come into your life, without you looking for them. These positive things or situations, you have to recognize them as a blessing.

Even things, seemingly negative in the beginning, can result in experiences from which you learn something new.

Ralph Waldo Emerson who was a great American essayist, lecturer, philosopher and poet once said:

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Everything you achieve in your life depends on the decisions you make, if they are effective you will be advancing in your personal development.

For all these things you should be grateful, because each of them will take you to the place you want to reach.

IV. Enjoy everything with a sense of gratitude

Blessings cannot be measured, and many times we make the mistake of valuing them as big or small blessings.

When you think about it, you realize that everything is important. Everything has a purpose in your life and should be measured as something valuable.

Robert Breault the American operatic tenor once said:

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

Robert Breault

Everything deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest, and when you think that way you see it with gratitude, because they brought something positive to your life.

You may see it small today, but tomorrow the blessing may turn out to be something really great and worth remembering.

V. Reflect on your current blessings

Today is a good day to reflect on the blessings you are enjoying. Do not wait to get something new, to enjoy and feel happiness.

Being grateful involves thoughts that are always focused on the present. In what you have now.

Charles Dickens was a great English writer and social critic and once wisely said:

“Reflect upon your present blessings.”

Charles dickens

When you reflect on each and every one of the things that are part of your life, and assign the value that each one deserves.

Your way of thinking changes completely, you will reach an even higher level of maturity, and your character will reach a high level.

And you can say with satisfaction:

“I am very grateful for all my blessings.”
