A Simple Explanation Why Emails Are Better Than Ads in the Long Term for Your business
Hello Business Owners! I am going to share with you why Emails are better than Ads for your business if you are aiming for the long term game.
Let’s start with TV commercials. Notice that they are not really convincing you into buying their stuff.
What they really do is they want to force themselves into your mind every time they are being displayed on your TV.
In other words, they want the people who are watching to remember them. So what they do is run their commercials many times a day and they will be watched multiple times by those people who always watch TV.
Eventually, those people who have watched the commercials multiple times will have those companies stick to their minds subconsciously like glue.
And eventually, if they need to buy something, they will remember that company that they watched multiple times and will proceed to buy from them.
Take a Cat Food commercial for example. If you don’t have a cat but you have watched this Cat Food commercial multiple times, then what happens if you eventually buy a cat? Where do you think you will buy your first cat food?
That’s right. You’re going to buy from that company in the commercial. This is what you call Branding. It is letting people know what you do and what can you do for them so that people will remember you in the future.
Now, what are the Internet equivalent of those commercials?
That’s correct. Ads. Whether it’s Facebook Ads, Youtube Ads, or Google Ads.
The shift of attention from TV to the Internet is what makes those Ads lucrative.
Have you ever experienced while scrolling through FB that there are Ads that frequently pop up and they are all from the same company?
Yes, it is the same principle as those TV commercials. Those companies want to force their brand down your throat so that one day, you will buy from them.
But the downside here is, TV commercials are expensive and so are Ads.
You need to pay money for every exposure out there and hope that people who saw them will buy from you now or someday.
Enter Email Marketing.
As you know, you can qualify people who are going to subscribe to your emails.
Qualify them strategically. Like if this kind of people joined your email list, you will know for sure that they will buy from you eventually in the future.
You have to hook those certain people and give value to them so that they will join you.
Now after they joined you, you can send as many emails as you want as long as you’re building relationships with them or you’re giving away value to them.
Now if you noticed already, I mentioned as many emails as you want.
If you are running an Email Marketing Service provider like Active Campaign and you are paying $100 a month for it, you can send as many emails as you like within that month and still pay $100.
This means you can apply the same principle of TV commercials and Internet Ads to your emails, but the difference is you can send as many emails as you like, still at a fixed price.
Wouldn’t you agree that you can save more via Emails rather than Online Ads or Commercials? I bet you do!!
You can also nurture relationships more intimately with people in your emails rather than ads. Now go figure if you intend to do that with ads and watch how much will it cost you.
Because for me, I am an advocate of building rapport with people so that they will trust me and I want to let them decided themselves if they are going to buy from me or not in the future.
