Cherries and Wine

A Valentine’s Day Reality

I’ve never had a love life,
I’ve never had a soul nor’ been a wife.
So when those chapel bells ring,
Pour me a glass of cherries and wine.
Not dairy and lime,
Just cherries and wine.

I want my maraschino, red popping cherry.

I want my prosecco, monet, bloody mary.

I want it.
I gotta have it.
Because if I can’t have you to lick my cherry, I gotta pour myself a nice glass of cherries and wine.

I’ve never sold my soul,
nor’ have I never gave my soul away.
And it’s getting old,
So daddy show me something I’ve never seen before,
I wanna be with you,
Shut the motel door.
