Dear Americans, Lend Me Your Ear
Let’s hit pause and take a moment.
In this moment, I’m not judging you.
Not if you’re wearing a mask in public. Not if you won’t wear one. Your hair can be fresh from the salon or a hot mess because you don’t have an appointment.
You may have been at home with your immediate family this weekend, or at a pool party with lots of people.
Right now, I don’t want to discuss politics or the virus with you.
Right now, I want to speak to the other human hearts that are beating in the country where I also live with my family.
How are you?
I’ve been focusing on taking better care of myself. I’ve worked too hard on healing my mind to go backwards right now. I’ve learned about salt baths. I’m averaging about three a week.
I’ve used social media to find some awesome 30-day exercise challenges to start my mornings. This month, it’s yoga. I’m making sure that I take the time to sit with my tea and enjoy drinking it while it’s still hot every evening. It’s glorious.
What are you doing to honor your mental health? Do you have some favorite songs on a playlist? Are you playing more board games?
