The sunny days decided to present themselves saying goodbye to the cold, rainy days that are so well known here in the Netherlands. And that was how, us, a Portuguese couple left one more time to discover the Netherlands. More precisely at the helm of good weather, in search of a new adventure about 150km from Amsterdam, this time to get to know Groningen.

Far to the north, in the province of Groningen, whose capital bears the same name, the largest city in the north of the Netherlands welcomes us after about two hours and thirty minutes of traveling on board of a train. The city with the highest percentage of students in the country welcomes us to its beautiful station endowed with impressive architectural beauty. After admiring this beautiful construction, it would be hard to believe that just over a century ago this station, now built in a mix of Renaissance and Gothic elements and voted in 2019 as the most beautiful station in the Netherlands, was a mere wooden building.
