Why do we make drafts?

For every project or assignments you come across, you may have made a draft for it. But what happens if you directly hit the fair copy? Is that a good idea? Let’s see!

THE DRAFT IS A CRAFT WITH A “C”:

Making a draft is not as easy as you think. It is the beginning point that you keep for a long road ahead.

The start is a very important point for where it takes you. These drafts are never useless, they help you mould your writing better than the first ones.

When it comes to a draft it has more than one, not everyone can correct their mistakes in a single take. Even for this writing, I have made drafts. So, directly writing a fair copy is not a thing you do for dignity.

But, having a draft can make you more innovative in your work.

You may get more ideas than the first draft, you modify and yes, finally you get your finishing piece.

“DRAFTING IS SCULPTING”

Like how every sculpture are done by several cuttings, the fair copy is also done with many drafts.

In each draft you correct your mistakes, modify your sentences and make it more interesting.

Firstly a draft is a rough copy. A tête-à-tête(a heart to heart talk) between you and your paper that you’re letting your thoughts out. While taking the first step of writing you may have an idea like how you want your message to pass-through this writing.

So, you take a paper and a pen in your hand.

  • Steady your thoughts,
  • Think narrow,
  • See the content you want to convey,
  • Note it down. (As a draft)

Now you have an idea of what to write, you will now write with a flow. Do not see the mistakes or any error you make at first, just spell out your words and you’ll get the shape of your art.

Then, you have to cut the extras, it’ll make your work specific. Afterwards, you will enhance your thoughts, make them more revealing, especially with your words that it takes.

For a final touch you could ask someone to look at it for you, the one who would want it to get better, ‘cause seeing from others angle you can get a clear perspective of how it is.

DRAFTS ARE THE ESSENCE OF WRITTING.

A draft is something that not usually done by everyone, but the people who know its value wouldn’t deny it.

You should have the habit of writing daily, that’s how you get your skill trained.

“Practice makes you perfect”

In the end,

Having a draft is like a rehearsal. You can know what mistakes you’ve done. Not everything has an option to make a draft piece. But if you think to make a draft, the answer to that question is YES.
