Ever thought about how the writer feels about their first draft?

The feeling that what you poured out is probably nothing but a bucket of crap.

That’s the way that most musicians feel when they begin playing an instrument.

The Maze of Life

That’s what you feel when you try to do something with your life. The first one is always the worst. The first handshake, the first interview… hell even the first kiss is awkward and uncomfortable for almost all of us.

The first one through the wall always gets blooded — Aaron Sorkin, Moneyball

Here’s how to change that crappy first-time feeling into a positive milestone that says, “You actually did something for once.”

As dreamers, creators, and doers we all have a sense of doubt. The world is huge, made small by the electronic devices in our hands. Yet, instead of inspiring us with the potential, it demotivates us. We think that it is stupid, and what do we have to say?

Your Two-Cents Are Worth a lot more to Someone else.

But, we forget that to know what we have to say or not say, we have to say it. We have to write. We have to sing. We have to dance. Not doing it is still doing something. So, why not check how much we are capable of, how well can we perform?

These are the questions that all creators face.

Let’s answer them. How?

Start. We are all waiting for you.

And I don’t know for how long.

Here’s the brass tax, No one gives it to you, you have to take what you want.

Be bold. Be ambitious. Be more. The world is waiting for your work, and once you realize that it won’t kill you for it, you will change.

You will realize that the world does not give a rat’s ass about your work. They don’t value your positive feedback. They don’t have time for your words, drawings and paintings, and art. So, why do you think you have anything to lose?

You don’t.

We are all gonna forget about it the next year anyway, so why not do it anyway. The world forgets a lot of stuff, but that one person whose life you can change and positively impact for the next 365 days, won’t.

We are all waiting for you, I don’t know for how long.

Start. Build. Paint.

The first time will always feel like a death trap, but it will get better the next time. And the next. And the next time after that. Up until a moment, you won’t know the difference between you of a year ago, and the YOU of right now.

Just Start.
