The term ‘freelancing’ continues to appear frequently on our Facebook feed. Even if you open LinkedIn, you will find everything related to freelancing. For some people, it’s just a myth, but for others, it’s a secret pill to change your life.

But what is ‘freelancing’ anyway?

Freelance work is a part-time or full-time remote job. People learn a highly demanded skill and sell their services locally or internationally. For instance, freelance content writers write for international blogs. Freelance web developers create responsive websites for entrepreneurs. Copywriters write emails, newsletters, and sales pitches for businesses. Virtual assistants help clients manage, organize, and improve their work. The list goes on, as there are tons of skills you can learn to earn.

The Internet is crowded with freelance teachers and mentors. Especially on YouTube, experienced freelancers teach their unique skills for free! Some trainers also charge for their courses, but as a beginner, YouTube and other free resources (ebooks, newsletters, etc.) are enough to kick-start the freelance journey.

Freelancers often need help to land jobs and find clients. For this, we have numerous sites and platforms. Globally acclaimed freelance platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer.com, and Truelancer.com are some places where you can earn. These freelance companies take a commission somewhere between 20%-25% of your earnings.

Besides that, freelancers also work on LinkedIn, the most emerging freelance marketplace in the future. LinkedIn is the goldmine of potential leads. People are earning a handsome amount by hunting clients there.

It is a good innovation that universities are now introducing freelance training sessions. Apart from this, government startups such as Digi Skills, E rozgar, Kamyab Nojawan, and NFTB (National Freelance Training Programme) are working hard to remove poverty from our country. As mentioned in the Daily Times, Pakistan is the fourth fastest-growing freelance marketplace. Let’s encourage our youth to work hard and rank Pakistan in 1st place.
