I truly believe that if people would allow themselves the uncomfortable luxury of feeling stupid or out of place… of being put into a situation out of their own control, where they are now a beginner doing something they know is bad (first draft), then they would find bliss, eventually.
I know it’s hard, it’s very hard to allow yourself to be a fool and be the type of person who fails, but it is vital to growth.
On top of that, in this modern world, it’s so easy to subtly distract yourself with a new activity, preventing any uncomfortable feeling of being new.
Giving full attentiveness to a new task can be not only daunting and scary from a new task intimidation factor, but also it can be frustratingly dull.
Being put in a situation where you might fail is scary, giving up control to another is hard, and doing things that don’t bring immediate satisfaction can be boring to a point of torture.
Unless you have an unusually strong disposition towards a given activity, then it’s probably going to be hard when you first start, and you are probably going to fail a lot to begin with.
