Everybody is talking nowadays about influencers, so much that it has become a trend now to be a Youtuber or a TikTok star. Don’t worry…even if every youngster in our society would make money from YouTube, the future is assured… many of the regular jobs in the future will be performed by robots…

Influencers today

For beginning to understand what an influencer will become in the future, let’s start with the definition of an influencer as we know it today. Of course, different people may tell you different things.

The truth is influencer marketing works better than traditional advertising simply because if people see other people who they know and trust using a product, they are likely to use it as well.

From a marketing and social media point of view, an influencer is a person or a group of people already having a huge base of followers, having the ability to influence the buying behavior of these followers, and promoting certain products and services to them.

Attention, Awareness, Emotion

The influencer of the present times is the person or a group of persons who promotes a product indirectly, by bragging about using it among friends and followers in the hope that they will relate to this and start using it too. It is all about emotions, trust, reliability. Once an influencer becomes big, it will be more about awareness, because all the emotional factors are already met.

The Future of Influencer Marketing

While the origin of influencers is not on social media, their future seems to be even more digital than it is today. A change of paradigm happens right now, because of platforms like Tik Tok. Facebook and even Instagram trying to catch up because it is known that you cannot have that organic reach using these apps as you could have before. Tik Tok brings something new: you can have your content become viral without having too many followers.

With platforms like TikTok, it is the quality of what you post that matters, and not the number of followers.

Are we talking about robots here?

The influencer of the future seems to be something that is…not even human or a person who died but is revived in a digital form. It is a virtual person who makes posts, stories and looks like a real human being.

Since we will soon have human-like robots presenting the news, why wouldn’t that be true as well for influencers? But, how would a robot meet all the conditions above: attention, awareness, and emotion? It’s hard to tell, but surely robot influencers will be very human.

By the way, did you know that Sophia the robot has an Instagram profile? In fact, the company that made her already has proposals to a partnership with various brands so that she becomes an influencer for them.

The answer would be then: yes, we are talking about robots. They seem to be the influencers of the future, along with digital forms of personalities from the past, such as, probably holograms.
