An unknown yet common phobia; you might be a sufferer too
‘I can’t live without you’ even 10 years ago, people used to say this only to the person they love.
But now, people say more to their phone than to the man or woman they love. People are now seen to be overwhelmed by the speed of the cyclone as soon as the phone is lost. Recent studies have shown that people with nomophobia feel lonely without their phones. They got involved in an unhealthy relationship with their phones. As a result, they are deprived of the company of real people.
Nomophobia can be said as a short form of no phone phobia just in a humorous way or simply no-mo(bile)phone-phobia. There is the opposite of nomophobia too. It is known as telephone phobia. People who suffer from this, they are basically terrified of talking on the phone. But that's not what I'm talking about today.
Let’s take a look at the harmful effects of nomophobia or the fear of losing the phone and ways to deal with it.
If you have nomophobia, you ;
1. Wake up every two hours at night to check your phone.
2. Even you check the phone during lunch or dinner.
3. Panic when the phone’s battery runs out of charge and can’t calm down until recharged.
