The Afghans Dilemma

They say life is a fate
Others say, it is luck
And still others, they claim self-power
or power in the divine
I am not sure what is the truth
Except that time holds true to all.

For more than two decades
We mobilized citizens power to fight for democracy
And for all those years, we hailed and cheered
Today, we linger in the closet.

We built and led alliances
Foreign troops, brethren and allies, fought and died
Then came the change unexpected
The enemy has taken over.

We woke up today to the news
The rising sun, turmoiled with dripping lavas
calmly drips coals of fire so peaceful
That only time will tell as the enemy is in control.

The arriving enemy, who looks so calm like a well-tamed lion
May only wake up with a bloodthirst far from any
As our once acclaimed friends depart with their flag
While we are left to our fate.
