In the last few decades, greenhouse gases-mainly in the form of CO2 emissions-have risen at enormous rates. The blame falls upon global economic growth and abuse of natural resources.

No matter where you look, climate change is at the center of every conversation. The rapid increase in wind and solar installations, in history, can only be compared to the pace at which smartphones become a commodity.

COVID-19 and a huge decline in global economical activities were an actual blessing. Emissions dropped, the oil & gas industry ran into trouble, the investments in renewables were spearheaded.

“100% renewable energy” even became a common pledge among big tech companies. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, and Facebook have all committed to similar objectives. How did they become an active actor in the global combat with climate change?

Thanks to accelerating the development of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

PPA, in short, is a long-term contract between energy provider and user for a large volume of electricity.
