How did I begin Content Writing?
I began writing as a hobby in my college. I am an “extro-introvert!”
This is the term coined for my kind of personality. My thoughts were always in my head but I spoke a lot.
To give my thoughts some relevant format I starting bleeding them on paper.
Also, I was finding a way to make some money for college canteen and other teenage stuff. Freelancing came to me as the saviour. It didn’t interrupt my regular college schedule and I could earn some pocket money in 3–4 hours.
I registered myself on Internshala and applied to several content writing internships.
They were paying INR 2000 bucks for 50 words every day. It was a lot back then. So I started with this work and enjoyed it. I also learnt professionalism. The art of sticking to deadlines. Responding to employers and writing e-mails.
It wasn’t a lot of money but enough for a teenager to buy a favourite dress after cash from home went into hostel fees and essentials.
In three years of graduation, I took 20 virtual internships. As graduation ended I started applying for full-time roles. Luckily, I received a call from one of the reputed MNC for the role of content writer.
Synopsis
So, the beginning might be small but you can always make it large if you keep at it. Success in any profession is not about working 20 hours a day and then sleeping next entire day. It’s about consistent output every day.
