Who Are You Now?

The old pain is gone. But who are you without it?

The past.

The memories.

Do we sometimes miss what once was?

Or the only thing we miss is who we were and we are not anymore?

Remembering that it was life we actually wanted to lose at that time.

So we did.

And now we see our own movie of memories screened in different colors.

Feeling it in different shades.

Feeling the ubiquitous nostalgia after the pain that couldn’t disappear and now is there no more.

The grief after the missing signature of ours.

Breathing in the new us instead.

With a slight wonder and doubt if getting rid of something that defined us so much, even though it was killing us at the same time, was the right move.
