Why Wally West as the Flash is Faster Than Barry Allen

Throughout their respective comic book histories as the two main incarnations of the Flash, Barry Allen and Wally West have tested their abilities to their limits. Wally was the protégé of his uncle Barry, who guided him towards becoming a master of the Speed Force. By studying this extra-dimension encompassing the multiverse, Wally attained the skills Barry had cultivated over his long career as the Scarlet Speedster. But the question remains: who is the faster Flash?

Barry Allen is considerably more experienced in the role of the Flash. He became well aware of the limits of the Speed Force in Crisis on Infinite Earths when he saves the Earth from an anti-matter cannon by running a vortex around it which essentially ridded himself out of existence. After a couple of decades of being written off as deceased, Barry Allen returns from the kinetic Valhalla in Grant Morrison’s Final Crisis.

In Flash: Rebirth, Barry was given the credit of being the creator of the Speed Force. He was familiar enough with the Speed Force to be able to harness it in the heavily referenced Flashpoint arc in order to sprint back in time to save his own mother, resulting in a fractured timeline.
