To be healthy is of the utmost importance for every person and when it comes to mental health it cannot be neglected at any cost. If you have peace of mind you can deal with any tornado in your life. But if your mental health is not sound, you can’t concentrate on anything at all.

This is where Writing comes in play. I am sharing my personal experience how writing assisted me in coping during my times of distress, I believe it would help you too.

During the past few years, I have had a pretty stressful life. Everything I did, it went wrong and left me disappointed. I worked pretty hard but my grades weren’t improving and for some reason wherever i was applying for a job, I got rejected. I felt as if there is something wrong with me. All the setbacks lead me into depression. Nothing seemed to work. I felt so alone with my problems pinning me down even more.

You know, it is very difficult when you have a voice but you cannot put it into words. When you’re screaming inside your head but it seems like you don’t have the courage to tell it to anyone. I had no idea what to do. It felt like I was stuck inside my head.

One day, while sitting all depressed I thought about writing it all out. So I started writing in notes of my cellphone. After I had written, it felt like a burden has been lifted from me. Writing has changed my life wonderfully. As time went on, I learned many new benefits of Writing. I am sharing few advantages it has on our mental health here:

Comfort

Writing gives you a different level of comfort and satisfaction. You can write whenever you want to and “Poof” all of your worries are gone on that paper you have written on. You don’t have to worry about what you are writing because nobody is there to judge you.

Solution to your problems

I feel when you are writing your heart out you ultimately get an idea on how to tackle your problems. On many occasions, I have gotten solutions to my problems while writing. Probably, it’s the process where when you write down a problem, your mind is free and think of a solution that you couldn’t think of, with a cluster of problems in your head.

Not become gossip of the town

When you don’t share with anyone else you don’t become talk of the town. Nobody gets to laugh at you or know your weaknesses. You can write any deep secrets and guess what? Nobody would leak them to anyone. You become a strong and confident person. It even builds trust in yourself which you lose overtime due to all the downfalls.

Can be a future earning method

Writing can become a source of income for you. Once you start writing, you won’t be able to stop. It gives you a chance to vent and to get paid for that is even better. It is an amazing occupation because you can work from home and at your own pace. You can become a content writer, a blogger, write reviews for different restaurants or even write your very own book.

Writing has been a great weapon for me. It has healed me and has been my companion ever since. I am sure it would aid you profoundly to stay out of stress and give you courage to express yourself openly.
