My Grandmother Hates Me

No, this is not an exaggeration

My grandmother is from Belize. Usually when I tell people that I get blank stares and tilted heads. “It’s in Central America I tell them.” More stares. “Near Mexico”, I finally divulge. “OOOOHHHH” is the normal response of a welcome familiar place to acknowledge and move on. But, it’s not near Mexico…not really.
