We shot and developed a lot of films before opening Analog Dreamz to the public.

Hello everyone! Starting today (August 1st, 2023), you can send us your exposed film for development and scanning here in Sri Lanka. Our goal is not only to develop film but also to make film photography more accessible and affordable. We aim to achieve this by bringing together the community, including educational institutions, merchants that sell the film, and of course, you!

We will discuss this further on a later day. Be sure to subscribe or follow us on Instagram.

Even though we are quite new, we really strive for the quality of our development. Over the last few months, we have sourced a lot of equipment and chemicals and improved our processes. We work closely with the Photographic Society of Sri Lanka for R&D and technical know-how. For example, in the last month, we developed more than 50 films with various types to assess our process. I want to thank Romesh and Satya of PSSL for their superb help.

We know that the cost of filming in Sri Lanka is quite high, due to several factors. In the coming months, we will begin producing films in Sri Lanka, focusing on one high-quality black and white film and one color film. We will offer these at a discounted price so that everyone can shoot more film.

In addition, we will be conducting workshops, photo-walks, try-out sessions, and even opening a public darkroom for you to develop your own films.

Stay tuned for all of these updates. Subscribe or follow us on Instagram.

Finally, I would like to thank RSS Darkroom for their hard work over the last two years and for facilitating a smooth transition. We had some great discussions and even made a print in their darkroom. Thank you, RSS.

So, dust off your cameras and shoot, shoot, and shoot!
