How everyone will try to control the flow of the ball in a game and those who did it better during the game will always win. A four-letter word has profoundly put impact in the sporting world; when considering a batsman how good he can put bat to ball and when we consider bowler how good he can pass the ball away from the bat. Isn’t it quite fascinating to visualize this qualitatively or quantitatively?

However, when we are talking of cricket analytics what all things we could consider and how to demystify it? In this article, I would be building a story about analytics in crickets covering various aspects.

Let’s starts with the menu of cricket analytics:

  • Descriptive Statistics
  • Supervised Learning
  • Unsupervised Learning

In the descriptive statistics platter, we could able to collect the session details of a team or a particular player whether it may be for batsman, bowler or fielder. If you’re having whole session data of an individual team you could able to find out average, strike rate, number of half-century or century scored, number of wickets taken, economy rate, etc that could relate to performance metrics.
