Historically, Bill James developed the Pythagorean theorem calculation to predict the percentage of games a baseball club “should” have won based on the number of runs they scored and allowed. Making predictions and evaluating which teams are over-performing and under-performing can be done by comparing a team’s actual and Pythagorean winning percentages.

As the recency of the ICC T-20 World Cup and IPLT20 is on the verge of initiation, I found another approach to estimate the run. Cricket comprises a lot of attributes such as runs, wickets, NRR, et Cetra to human performance attributes. However, as a team, we should be looking at cumulative factors such as total runs scored by a team than the individual. Perhaps, we could also debate over why not individual as there is a saying:

Julia Carney’s immortal lines (from her poem, Little Things, 1845) read thus, Little drops of water
Little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean,
And the pleasant land.

Although the drawback of considering the individual runs to estimate the win will have lots of pitfalls due to changes in playing 11. However, it can be stated that if one team scores more run then the chance to win the match increases.
