Setting Up Cloudera VM in Ubuntu:

Today we will learn to install cloudera VM in our ubuntu system.

First go to the terminal and type Following command sequentially:

  1. sudo apt-get update
  2. sudo apt-get install virtualbox
  3. virtualbox

If virtualbox opens up normally then skip steps 4 to 8.Otherwise do following.

4. sudo apt-get install virtualbox-dkms

5. sudo dpkg-reconfigure virtualbox-dkms

6. It may ask you to perform Mok enrollment. Set the password for mok key enrollment and remmember it .

7. Next reboot your system.

8. Upon rebooting, the “ UEFI key management” screen appears. Press any key withing 10 seconds to proceed.

Click on ‘Enroll MOK’ .
select ‘Continue’.
Enter the same Password that you have entered before.
Press Ok.
Then click on reboot.

9. Download the Cloudera VM. Download the Cloudera VM from here. The VM is over 4GB, so will take some time to download. Unzip it.

10. After that go to terminal again and type virtualbox.

Now that you have installed virtualbox. Open it.Go to the file on the top left corner. Select preferences. Choose import appliances. It will lead you to following window.

Choose the cloudera-VM ovf file that you just unzipped.

Click ‘Next’.

Click ‘Import’. It will lead you to following window.

Choose the Cloudera quickstart vm from left side of panel with hat icon and then press start. It will lead you to following window.

It will take take around 5–6 minutes to boot the Vm.
