How to embrace being ADHD during Xmas

Our ADHD decorations are all heart

Created by the author.
The real tree is even crazier than this. Created by the author.

Our tree is always messy, full of decorations that were neither carefully planned out nor selected to match in color. We choose our decorations with our hearts: Maybe they were given to us by someone special, maybe we created them in school when we were kids, or maybe they hold special memories. So much nicer than a perfectly designed tree with only 2 colors!

And just to be clear, maybe this is not really an ADHD thing. I don’t know, but my entire family is quite clearly very neurodivergent (some diagnosed, some not), and as far as I can see, this type of tree is not that common in other families.

Don’t send ADHDers to go shopping for essentials. Send them to get shiny stuff!
