Introducing Record with Friends

Record high quality audio with up to seven friends, anywhere in the world, right from the Anchor app. Available for free on iOS and Android.

Just tap the “Invite friends to record with you” button to invite up to 8 others.

How it works

To start recording with friends, just tap the big red button at the bottom of the screen. Then, instead of immediately holding the phone right up to your ear to start recording, tap the “Invite friends to record with you” button. From there, you’ll be able to invite anyone who has favorited your station on Anchor, or any of your Facebook or Twitter friends. You can also send an invitation to anyone who’s not yet on Anchor to download the app; once they’ve installed it, they can join the recording instantly without having to set up an account.

No extra hardware required

Record with Friends requires no additional hardware or software to work. All you need — and all your friends need — is the free Anchor app for iOS or Android. It’s as simple as regular recording in Anchor.

High quality audio

The quality of audio captured with Record with Friends is great, and sounds just as good as recording directly from your device’s microphone. Other group recording software (including Anchor’s previous Interviews feature) requires recording via a standard telephone call, resulting in lower quality, inconsistent audio. But Record with Friends sounds great, no matter how many people join in.

Add up to 8 friends, from anywhere in the world

Best of all, you can record with a big group of your friends, no matter where they are. With people creating and listening to audio with Anchor in nearly 200 countries throughout the world, Record with Friends makes it possible for people everywhere to have incredibly diverse and interesting audio collaborations whenever they want.
