Here at Anchor, we love podcasts. As part of our mission to democratize audio, we feel it’s our responsibility to highlight some of the best audio on the internet, regardless of where it’s being created. Here are a few episodes we’ve been listening to in Anchor HQ this week.
So Fashionating
Episode: Eudora Peterson
Hosted by two NYC based comedians, So Fashionating is a weekly show about the way fashion impacts our daily lives. Also, it has an incredible theme song. The first episode features a recap of New York Fashion Week and is a super charming listen.
How It Is
Where to begin: Our Anger
The first podcast from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, How It Is features interviews between host Diane Guerrero and a series of really incredible guests like Tarana Burke, Lena Waithe, Gabrielle Union and more. The first season just wrapped which makes now a great time to listen to all five episodes.
At the Intersection
Where to begin: Guns, Race, and Hypocrisy Parts 1 & 2
Hosted by Brian Kennedy and Marion Johnson, At The Intersection aims to break down current cultural moments by way of policy and activism. We highly highly recommend listening to their two-part series from March called “Guns, Race, and Hypocrisy.”
Revisionist History
Episode: Divide and Conquer
Malcolm Gladwell’s hit podcast returned for a third season this week with an episode that, in his own words, contains “a modest proposal for solving everything wrong in the United States.”
Good News: A Podcast
Where to begin: Whatever episode is the most recent
Good News is a short-form news podcast released multiple times weekly that covers the most important good news you need to know. The three hosts have great chemistry and bring a wonderful vibe that makes for an incredibly addicting podcast.
Converge with Casey Newton
Where to begin: Trailer
Converge with Casey Newton technically isn’t out yet, but WILL BE a technology game show podcast featuring Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. The trailer is a gold standard for how to make podcast trailers, so give it a listen before episode one drops on Wednesday.
Work Harder
Where to begin: WORK HARDER
Is it comedy? Is it art? Is it a collective audio hallucination? What we know for sure is that it’s a podcast called Work Harder and that it’s the weirdest ten minutes of audio we’ve heard all week.
Unspooled
Where to begin: Citizen Kane
If you’ve ever wondered why people won’t stop talking about how great Citizen Kane is, Unspooled is going to become your new favorite podcast. Hosted by film critic Amy Nicholson and actor Paul Scheer, the show will be going through all of AFI’s top 100 films and figuring out just what makes them so groundbreaking.

Star Trek: The Next Conversation
Where to begin: Start from the beginning
A show about what is objectively the best series of Star Trek, The Next Conversation is hosted by Matt Mira and Andy Secunda. Each episode finds the pair dissecting an episode of Star Trek: TNG as Matt is rewatching the series and Andy is watching for the first time. Two flavors for the price of one, and that price is free.
2 Dudes and a NES
Where to begin: Whichever game you feel most nostalgic about
A weekly show in which two friends revisit and review the classic NES games you know and love, along with a whole bunch you’ve probably never even heard of. The show’s been running since around 2014, which means they’ve probably covered the game you spent all weekend playing in middle school.
