How To Identify The Right Platform For A Digital Marketing Campaign
Digital marketing is a vast subject with many different services and tools that you can make use of to build yourself (and your business) a solid digital campaign that will bring in great results and most importantly, more income for your business.

We’ve discussed our various digital marketing strategies in a previous post but something we haven’t talk about yet is how to identify the right platform for a digital marketing campaign.
No campaign, no client and no platform are identical. Each and every one of these components have different structures that you have to keep in mind in order to be able to build yourself a success campaign online.
As we’ll explain in this post below, you have to know exactly what you want to sell, what your budget is for promoting and most importantly; where you should spend your money for the best ROI on your advertising budget.
Step #1: Picking The Right Audience
The first step is to determine what product you want to sell to who.
The reason this is important when picking a digital platform is because different audiences “hang out” on different platforms online so if you have any hopes of launching an ad campaign targeting your audience, you need to know where your money is best spent.
- Professionals can be found on LinkedIn
- Teens can be found on Instagram & Snapchat
- Females audiences can be found mostly on Facebook & Pinterest
- and so forth.

This is a very important step for you to decide on because it’s crucial before moving to the next part of this process.
Step #2: Determining Your Budget
Having a solid budget set aside for doing digital marketing is ideal even before deciding of starting one.
It doesn’t have to be a lot, in fact media buying is probably one of the most affordable ways you can market your business, but having some idea on how much you want to spend (and where you want to spend it) is good to have.
This depends on your products and your target audience of course.
If you want to sell a $5 item on Facebook, you need a certain budget but if you want to sell a $10,000 course on LinkedIn, you need another type of budget.
Again, it does not have to be a huge budget, but it needs to be realistic to your goals.

Step #3: Picking The Right Platform
Now that we know your target audience and your budget, it’s time to look at how to identify the right platform for your digital marketing campaign.
How do you pick the right platform?
As we mentioned already; your target audience and your budget is a clear indicator of where you should be focusing on but other factors come into play in this step as well.
You need to make sure that what you are doing, are the right practices for that specific platform.
For instance, if you want to launch a branding campaign, then something visual such as Instagram or Facebook would be a great idea, but if you want to focus more on conversions, a Google Search or Display ad campaign can help you even better.
Bonus Tip: You have to keep in mind that no digital marketing campaign starts off “perfect”.
In fact, the first stage of our marketing plan that we use for a client is simply trying different campaigns, looking at the data and then adjusting.
The real magic and the secret behind our success with such campaigns is that we easily adapt to the data that comes back to us after we have launched the initial run of the campaign.
