Newgrange can only be described as amazing!

I know it is an overused word, but honestly every time I visit Newgrange I am amazed.

5,000 Years Old!

Newgrange is a prehistoric monument built over 5,000 years ago. To put it into perspective, when the Egyptians first started to build pyramids, Newgrange was already 2,500 years old!

Newgrange Passage Tomb

Newgrange is a passage tomb that has ceremonial, religious, and astronomical aspects to it as well.

You have an opportunity to go back in time when you visit Newgrange. As you enter the 63-foot-long passageway, you are greeted with megalithic artwork carved into the rock.

Walking deeper, there is more artwork consisting of ancient symbols.

Further still, you enter the main chamber. It is a circular opening that can accommodate about 20 people. Off the main chamber are 3 rooms. Presumably, they were used in the various ceremonies that took place here.
