On 31 January, 2016, an unprecedented event has happened at Tuni, a small town from East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Approximately 1 lakh members from Kapu/Balija communities participated in an agitation at Tuni (East Godavari district), demanding immediate inclusion of Kapu/Balija castes in BC category. Policemen were beaten up, stones were pelted on train, four coaches of Ratnachal Express and police station were set on fire, 7 passengers were injured, media persons and railway officials were attacked, and 25 vehicles were damaged.
