It’s that time of the year again! Yeah, it’s summer time.

And with it comes the need to stay up to date with the day to day weather conditions. How many degrees up tomorrow?? When is it going to rain…?? God dammit, it’s so freaking hot!

Well, these are the questions every mind is plagued with and what better way to answer them, than with an app that could keep you up to date with daily weather conditions.

Although, on Android, Google Now serves the purpose pretty well, but many people don’t bother to use it and eventually end up downloading an app from the Play Store anyway.

Now there are thousands of Android weather apps and many of them are great. But, only a few stand tall among the rest.

So, these are the top Android weather apps according to me:

BBC weather app

A BBC weather app for Android is the simplest app you will find. With minimalistic design and straightforward approach this app will show you the current temperature up front. Other details such as humidity, visibility, pressure and wind can also be viewed.

But it does more than that, you can also see the hourly updates as well as the next 10 days as well. Multiple locations of choice can also be set.

The best part of the app is that it’s free and there are no advertisements at all.

The weather channel

This is one the most good looking weather app out there and if you can ignore the big square ads built into the app, this is a great weather app.

The weather channel has given a complete overhaul to their app and I was genuinely surprised by the way it looked, because the previous version was outright hideous.

Although, I feel that it has taken quite a number of cues from the Yahoo weather app.

Anyways, the app itself is great and in addition to giving the quite authentic weather updates, hourly and daily forecasts, UV index, pressure, wind and dew point etc, it also allows the users to report the weather conditions of their area with an image they can capture on their smartphones.

If, you are a social type and want to help others by reporting the weather, go ahead and download this app.

Yahoo weather app

Credit goes to the Yahoo weather app for upping the ante in its respective field. It launched with awesome live weather images that the app collects from the Flickr, best suiting to the weather conditions of the users location.

The result was the gorgeous look of the app! In addition to the amazing looks, the app also gives tons of details about the weather conditions with smooth animations which makes using this app a visual pleasure.

The app itself is also responsive and there is just one Ad that appears when you scroll up for more details. Once again, you can set multiple locations and get detailed weather conditions of your area.

Ultimately, you can’t go wrong with any of these weather apps. They blend simplicity with looks and ease of use. There are several other good weather apps as well, but they are either too slow or are visually not as cool or well, are not free.

If you are not satisfied with these three; take a look at Accu weather, Weather timeline- Forecast and 1Weather.

Now, go ahead and try these apps and tell us what you think about them or share your favorite weather apps in the comments.
