Why I love Medium
Medium is the best network I ever discovered — And why? Read this article!
How discovered Medium
The first time I heard about Medium was one or two years ago when Medium was in beta stage. I tried to come into it but for me it wasn’t possible (I don’t know the reason anymore). The next time I heard about Medium was some weeks ago. I read a story from Jack Underwood and was reminded that he published his story on Medium. Some days after this I was bored and read some articles on Android Police. There was an article that described that Medium just launched their first beta app for Android. I just wanted to give it a try and this was a really great thing! Since this moment I have always the latest beta from Medium on my Android phone and enjoy Medium a lot.
After I was remembered about Medium I came up with the idea to try to write my own first article on this amazing platform. I did and I also started a publications which seems to be successfull. Now the publication has already more than 300 followers and the number is growing very fast.
Why is Medium so amazing?
In my opinion Medium is such a great thing because of the following aspects:
- There are no ads! This seems to be not important but if you compare Medium with Facebook or Twitter it’s really great that there aren’t ads. I don’t know how they finance themself but I believe they find / found a way.
- Medium is very simple! You have ever been using Blogspot for a while? Then compare Medium with Blogspot! What’s the difference? It’s the simplicity! The editor is really easy to use but also the structure of Medium is very simple.
- Medium is a great platform to share your own thoughts, to read thoughts from other people and also discover new things. There are many new articles every day / hour.
- Medium is also a great platform to promote yourself. I (for example) write from time to time about my own apps. I hope / think this is a little boost for the app installs.
- On Medium there is a simple but also powerful possibility to get stats over the own written stories.
- A not so important but noticeable fact: I hope / think writing on Medium improves my english. English isn’t my native language. I am mostly talking in german. I only need english to communicate online with other great persons around the world and of course at school during the english lessons.
Will Medium survive in this ocean of social networks and is Medium the future?
Yes, I think so. Medium has a big potential to become very big. At the moment it’s only popular in the blogger scene but I think this will change soon. Medium is also interesting for people who just want to get informations on the web.
