I have been working with Blockchain Clearing Corporation (BCC) on a big idea with a lot of implications. I just unveiled some of the technology strategy on Medium. Please read and comment there if you are interested in blockchain technology, banking, or securities trading.

Introducing the Third Generation Blockchain

Bitcoin introduced the idea of a blockchain — a shared record or “ledger” of transactions. Second generation systems like Ripple extended this idea to include trading, but have not gained much traction against more established, high-volume trading markets. The third generation of blockchain systems will allow us to mix and match trading, messaging, and ledgers to blend the power of existing systems with the clarity of blockchain records.

Applications and Architecture of Blockchain-style Messaging

The enabling technology is “Blockchain-style messaging.” You can use this messaging to store documents, set up simple agreements, settle trades, deliver assets to other blockchains, and monitor whole markets. Cloud infrastructure will make it easy to use and scale to millions of transactions and messages per second.

About BCC

BCC is now launching two important initiatives

  • Technology for Blochain-style messaging, including an upcoming Workflow Development Kit and the related SaaS infrastructure.
  • A consortium of banks and brokers working on real time (T0) delivery of US exchange traded equities. Contact us to learn more about the specific way that T0 will happen before T2.
