“If goodness and evil, innocence and cruelty, cuteness and ugliness exist in one form, it must be an innocent child.”

Andy Khun’s TRIPPY ART debut

<Sujinee> is a work that expresses the duality of human beings, where good and evil coexist, by projecting them into an innocent child.
The girl’s expression contrasts with things such as alcohol and knives that don’t match her age.

Words from Andy Khun, who refuses any kind of segregation

Andy khun says “The premise that all human beings have ambivalence applies not only to painting, but also to everyone I encounter in my daily lives or through the media. You start to think that there are no absolutely bad people or good people, and it seems like there’s no way to get too upset about anything.”.

How to buy cheap Bitcoin with Ethereum(2022)

“Can a drawing based on bitcoin really be as valuable as real bitcoin?

Also, if a bitcoin drawing exceeds the price of one bitcoin, is it recognized as an art or collectible, or is it just a plausible ‘scam’?”

Andy Khun’s SuperRare Marathon

<How to buy cheap Bitcoin with Ethereum> is a super-rare NFT series in which one piece of Bitcoin-themed work is minted every day.
Although the theme is Bitcoin, the fact that it is minted on Ethereum chain is ironic.

A land of opportunity called NFT approaching artists
Andy Khun says “With the advent of NFT, many artists who have not been able to enter a specific gateway to the existing art market have had the opportunity to be evaluated in some way.”, and

“Previously, secondary sales were only possible through galleries or art dealers, but the fact that collectors can now sell their paintings with just one click if they want is a big change from the collector’s point of view,”.

Interview

Words from a Trippy Art Artist, interview with Andy Khun

Q. You seem to be focusing on coins and NFTs through activities such as ‘Bitcoin Drawing’ these days.
Why did you become interested in art work in the virtual world?

🎨 Andy Khun: The biggest reason was that it was a new genre that I had never experienced before.

At first, I was struck by the fact that the substance was uncertain, but that uncertainty came to me as a charm that made any attempt possible.

I became interested in earnest as I thought that interesting experiments would be possible other than simply buying and selling works.

The ‘Bitcoin Drawing (How to Buy Bitcoins Cheaply with Ethereum)’ series work in progress at SuperRare was first shown at a solo exhibition a few years ago, but I feel like I found a more suitable exhibition space than the offline exhibition.

This work is not finished by simply selling the work, but it is a kind of audience participation type performance where even the price fluctuation of the work becomes part of the work as it goes through the sale and resale. (In this respect, it can be said that the work is similar to the ‘Flower Wall Project’ that I carried out in Gwanghwamun for 6 months from 2016 to 2017)

If the fake bitcoin pictured in the picture exceeds the real bitcoin price, is it an evaluation of the value of art or is it just a simple happening?

We are working on it every day, watching with interest how this work, which will take place for a year in 2022, will flow.

Q. I know that SUJINEE is a character Andy Kun has been making for a long time. I am curious as to the reason why Soojin was born while illuminating ‘the duality of human beings’.

🎨 Andy Khun : Sujinee was born in the early spring of 2013.

At the time, I carried out the ‘Daily Drawing Project’ in which I posted daily graffiti on social media, and unlike commission work, I was free to draw as my subconscious led me without any plan.

It was born naturally while I was training to doodle.

I was probably thinking of something cute and evil at the same time.

The premise that all human beings have ambivalence tends to be applied not only to painting, but also to all those encountered in everyday life or through media.

For example, when someone does something wrong or does something good, you imagine the other person on the other side.

When you imagine that, you start thinking that there are no absolutely bad people or good people, and it seems like there’s no way to get too upset about anything.

I think Sujinee can be understood as simply a cute demon, or as a character that symbolizes human attributes.

Being good for no reason and falling in love with deep understanding all have their own meanings.

Q. Were there any difficulties while making the Sujinee 22 Horang edition?
🎨 Andy Khun : I wanted to draw as pretty as possible because I wanted to convey the meaning of cheering for tired people. It was the most difficult because I wasn’t good at drawing pretty pictures. ^^

Q. What are the purchase points for Sujinee 22 Horang edition?
🎨 Andy Khun: It is a work limited to 22 pieces, but isn’t it that all paintings are only one edition, and above all, you can purchase these rare items for 100 klay?

Q. Are there any future benefits for Sujinee 22 Horang edition holders?
🎨 Andy Khun: First of all, I plan to present a real printed frame of the work purchased through a raffle to one of all buyers.

If you do not win unfortunately, you can purchase the actual printed frame of the purchased work for 50,000 won.

But the best benefit is that I will work diligently to increase the value of Sujinee so that I can resell it at a higher price in the future.

Q. You hid Chinese characters to pray for good fortune in the new year, such as 福 (fortune), 壽 (water), 愛 (love), 樂 (rock), and power (energy). Which one do you want to get the most? Which Chinese character will suit Sujinee the best this year?
🎨 Andy Khun: The word I want to get is 福(fortune).

I would like to have all the other words, but I wish I had a lot of luck, especially this year.

I’m making a lot of new attempts, so I’m desperate for that kind of fortune. ^^

I think the word that suits Sujin the most is 愛 (love).

Even if they have ambivalence, in the end they are human beings who give and receive love.

In addition, I hope that Sujinee will receive more love than ever this year! :)
