The Butterfly Dream made out of an animation
The Butterfly Dream is a project that started with the idea that the spreading NFT market is similar to the butterfly dream in which reality and dreams are indistinguishable.
The contrast and the overlap between the hunting tiger behind the bushes and the butterfly flutter was a fun metaphor of fly like a butterfly in the year of the Tiger.

Q : What does the name Kisscool mean?
🦋 kisscool : It means ‘wooseok is cool’ in short and without spaces. Double s,o seemed fun.Q : If you could describe Kisscool in 3 words, what would it be?
🦋 kisscool : Pensive Bold Spark✦✧✦✧Q : What motivated you to enter the NFT world?
🦋 kisscool : As a creator, I approached nft as a new platform, and since I enjoy working with a variety of topics, I decided to show my project to the bigger audience.Q : What are you doing other than NFT work?
🦋 kisscool : As an animation designer, I work in the studio during the day and do personal artwork at night. Not bound by the tools, from VR painting to mural works at the dive bar located in Vancouver Gastown.Q : You mentioned that you are working across virtual space and reality. How are the two working methods different? What do you want to express in common or differently in the two works?
🦋 kisscool : Illustrating on paper does not have undo option, but it’s perfect for getting out soft intuitive design from my head.Working in the virtual setup shows more free experimental pop art tendency. Blending these mediums is just a process in the reach of aesthetics I pursue.

🦋 kisscool : In the midst of a new concept of virtual property, the nft market spreading like a butterfly effect, overlaps with the meaning of ‘reality and dream’, which is the oriental philosophy of ‘the butterfly dream’Q : I wonder why you expressed this project in the form of loop pattern art. Is it the type of work you usually do?
🦋 kisscool : I make simple loop animation for fun and with this project, I composed each keyframes to become a pattern to give unique playback and printing possibility.Q : It is unique in that the pattern of a butterfly and the eyes of a tiger are layered on top of each other. I am curious about the relationship between the butterfly and the tiger in the work.

🦋 kisscool : It started as an improvised and intuitive design, but everything was planned.Q : What property do you value the most?
🦋 kisscool : The most important property for me is ‘self’. Being a strong asset myself leads to a solid foundation.Q : You said that you were aware of the situation in Ukraine and started your work. In particular, in what part of the work can we get a glimpse of that?
🦋 kisscool : It is no longer part of the collection since it was not under the theme ‘dream’, I shared a post in the community chat, inspired by and being aware of the war in Ukraine. Ukraine was illustrated as a single butterfly, and the spread of various opinions on the war within Russia was visualized by the fluttering wings of several butterflies.
