We’ve teamed up with ABInBev for Bangalore’s latest (and greatest) hackathon, Hack The World; and we can’t wait for the party to begin on the 3–5 of February! In case you’re still waiting to reserve your spot, here’s a few reasons that might speed up the process:
- There’s a travel stipend. Up to $200 reimbursement if you’re coming from outside Bangalore. Use it for your planes, trains, automobiles, or …sofa hacks?
2. The prizes are awesome! A trip to New York City, XBox’s for the whole team, and iPads?? Not too shabby.
3. The challenge is all around, well, beer! Using the images and data provided, you’ll be able to hack the best solution for ABInBev to gain better insights into the effectiveness of their investment toward driving sales.
Pre-Hack Ideas to Consider:
- The changes in price promotional activity over time
- Data modeling to quantify performance drivers for sales, share, or volume lift and calculate return on investment
- Tools or interface to support data visualization for better understanding of key insights
To accomplish this, we will provide images of products in stores to help showcase the real life scenarios of consumer trade promotional pricing.
In addition, we will provide datasets in excel or csv form that will contain a variety of other variables. These may include CPI, GDP growth, product distribution, marketing spend, trade promotion spend, temperature, and more as well as sales volumes.
4. It’s 3 days! Which means 3 days of free food, fun with friends, passionate hacking, and a happy hour at the end for those who are of age!
