Our Favorite Things About The Tech4Good Hackathon in San Francisco
We are teaming up with the University of San Francisco to bring you #Tech4Good, a hackathon based on using technology to make a positive impact around the world. This push towards change is happening March 4–5 on USF’s campus!
Incase you are still pondering registering for this awesome hackathon, I have provided you a list of a few of my favorite things — kinda like Julie Andrews except, with less children and twirling on hills.
🗣️ Learn
For this hackathon there is an option of attending an amazing conference on March 3rd ran by USF! Not only is it packed with keynote speakers, it’s also the perfect event to start brainstorming and getting inspired about how to solve our current global challenges. Hint: It might just give you a leg up on the competition.
👨👩 Connect
So you’re probably thinking, “whatever there is always networking,” but at this hackathon the community of people will expand past developers, designers, and entrepreneurs. There will be undergraduates, graduates, and alumni of USF participating to help you further create valuable and helpful connections.
🌎 Impact
If I could choose one favorite of my favorites it would definitely be the impact that this hackathon will have on the globe. With this hack being specifically tailored to using new technologies to make a difference in people’s lives around the world, the room will be filled with brilliant minds working towards one common goal — making a positive change.
⭐️ Win
I left this for last because we all know the prizes are going to be awesome. The grand prize winner will receive VIP tickets to hear Steve Wozniak speak at USF on April 19th, 2017 and receive entrance into our pre-accelerator, the HACKcelerator. The HACKcelerator is a program specifically designed to take hackathon winning projects and turn them into real startups. We’ve helped to build 150+ start ups through the program, and the portfolio is valued at $69M USD. Some startups have even gone on to be acquired by Google and Box.
