UST Angelicum College conducted the event “Casa Abierta Open House” via Zoom last March 26, 2022 which was attended by Elementary, JHS, SHS students and parents for the purpose of learning more about the school and its curriculum.

The program was led by Ms. Maria Vanna Benigos and started the event by inciting the school’s history and how it became what it is today. Followed by the Dominican blessing and the Angelicum hymn. The opening remarks was delivered by Rev. Fr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P the Pro-Vice Rector of the school. “Good day and Welcome to UST Angelicum College” he openly stated as he gave a warm welcome to everyone in the zoom meeting. In his message, he informed everyone that the purpose of the event was to enlighten students about the school and its unique curriculum. He ended his statement by hoping that the students would find the school as a school of their choice. After Fr. Herminio’s statement, the Academic Director, Dr. Eunice Mareth Q. Areola, HSG welcomed everyone to the first Casa Abierta of the year.

She discussed the different advantages in the UST Angelicum College Education. Making sure that every student’s learning journey is well-taken care off. The school is widely known for being the only school in the Philippines to have a non-graded system and acknowledged self-paced learning where every student was embraced with the fact that not every learner is the same. The Academic advantages that were presented in the event opened the eyes of the audience to see the purpose, the programs, the practices instilled and the people product of the school. At the end of the event, Dean Eunice answered what the purpose of the school is, what the school offers and how they will achieve their goals as a pillar and ladder for the students’ future and carve themselves into society.

Ms. Maria thanked the speaker for her statement and by giving a very concise and clear understanding of UST Angelicum College. Afterwards, she called out to all the stakeholders that the fulfillment of their vision and mission works hand and hand with each other. Followed by testimonies of students, alumni and parents who talk about their love and their experiences within the school. From students that were no older than ten-years old to college graduates, it was surely heartwarming to see these people grow in UST Angelicum College.

As we celebrate the 50 years of UST Angelicum College Education, Ms. Benigos showed a video of the journey of the school’s progress which depicted all its values and roots. Putting the event into a close, the UST hymn was sung as a symbol of the unity between two schools.
