Through reading this play and now through the reviews, I think I have a greater perspective on what a human living with HIV/AIDS during this time would have been going through. Obviously, no one can ever know unless they were in that situation themselves, but the disparity of one going through this would be surreal. Looked down upon from a societal standpoint and cast out like a leper is something that no one ever deserves.
