Technology is disrupting, reinventing, and improving every industry on earth and we are particularly excited about the intersection of technology and healthcare. We have made several investments in this space, ranging from Color Genomics, democratizing access to genetic testing information, to Nurx, making birth control more easily and directly accessible, to Carrot, widening access to egg freezing, to Hale Health, easing communication between clinical teams and their patients between visits, and others. Today, we’re excited to announce our investment in Forward.

We had the privilege of getting to know co-founder and CEO Adrian Aoun when he left Alphabet. He was in the early stages of building a team of experts to tackle an ambitious mission: to provide a health membership that combines world class doctors with data-driven technology, AI, wearable sensors, 24/7 mobile access, and a state-of-the-art medical facility for a new type of preventative care. We believe that for the first time, people will be able to enjoy and engage in a long-term relationship with their healthcare provider.

Today, Forward is launching its first San Francisco location at 180 Sutter Street. Among the many impressive things about this team is their ability to iterate and ship. In less than a year, we’ve watched the team go from “mocking up” a doctor’s office using cardboard (real-world wireframes!) to hitting a number of key milestones: from building a futuristic body scanner to building real exam rooms that are equipped with beautiful displays that act as a real-time collaboration tool between the member and doctors which pulls in relevant history, genetics and sensor data.

All six of #Angels participated in the investment of Forward (April Underwood, Chloe Sladden, Jana Messerschmidt, Jessica Verrilli, Katie Stanton, and Vijaya Gadde). You can sign up and learn more about Forward here.
