Welcome Brittany to #ANGELS

#ANGELS is a little over two years old and, like the companies we back, we are in many ways a start-up ourselves. As we manage a portfolio of 50 companies and continue to actively invest (alongside our full time jobs), bringing someone exceptional on-board to join us became our key focus these last few months. We are thrilled to welcome Brittany Davis as a part-time Investment Principal!

Brittany’s entrepreneurial background and passion for startups made her a stand-out fit for our team. She founded an artificial intelligence e-commerce company (while pursuing an MBA at Harvard) and also worked on the investment and startup incubator teams at Village Capital, Techstars, and Start-up Jamaica. She brings direct experience with sourcing, diligence, pipeline management and investing as well as strong business and financial acumen from five years of working at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. To everyone who took the time and energy to apply — thank you! We began this search 4 months ago and were delighted to have so much interest in the role. We reviewed 200+ resumes, conducted second round applications with ~40 candidates, phone screened a short list of finalists and followed up with references. We made an effort to source candidates from our direct network in Silicon Valley and outside of it (by reaching out to well-connected people with networks different from our own and asking for their help in sharing our role). Through this process we received tremendous interest from candidates of diverse backgrounds. We must say: there was no pipeline problem. If anything, we had more qualified candidates than we could accommodate. So to those who applied: don’t give up on becoming an investor!
