AngularInDepth is moving away from Medium. More recent articles are hosted on the new platform inDepth.dev. Thanks for being part of indepth movement!

ng-conf will be May 1st — 3rd in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah at the Grand America Hotel. Additionally, there are workshops available for 2 days prior to the start of the conference.

If you want to know who will be there from Angular In Depth, read on!

Speakers from Angular In Depth

Three Angular In Depth writers have speaking sessions at ng-conf.

Max “The Wizard” Koretskyi: Can you imagine a future without zones?

The founder of Angular In Depth, Max Koretskyi aka Wizard will be giving a talk titled:
Can you imagine a future without zones?

In addition to reverse engineering frameworks, Max likes to walk along train tracks.

On Thursday in the Grand Ballroom Max will teach us everything there is to know about controlling change detection. He’ll start with the role of zones and then proceed to zone-less setups with manual and semi-automatic change detection control. He’ll also provide an explanation of trade-offs between each approach.

Kern Zhao: Use decorator to beat ngOnChanges — Decoupling ngOnChanges

On Thursday, Angular In Depth writer Siyang Kern Zhao will present a session:
Use decorator to beat ngOnChanges — Decoupling ngOnChanges.

Kern and a kangaroo in Australia - Kern is the one wearing glasses.

Kern will explain how using a TypeScript property decorator directly on a component is much easier/cleaner/more-readable when subscribing to a property change than the traditional ngOnChanges() life cycle hook.

Brandon Roberts: Building Sub States w/ NgRx Selectors

Wednesday morning Angular Team member Brandon Roberts will present a talk: Building Sub States w/ NgRx Selectors.

Brandon and I are competing for the shortest hair award.

Brandon is a maintainer of the NgRx project and recently wrote an article for Angular In Depth called Handling Error States with NgRx.

Additionally, Brandon will be giving a workshop with Mike Ryan on Monday and Tuesday called: NgRx: A Reactive State of Mind.

Thomas Burleson: NgRx + Facades: Simplifying your Store’s API

Finally, late Friday afternoon Solutions Architect and Angular In Depth writer Thomas Burleson from nrwl.io will give a talk: NgRx + Facades: Simplifying your Store’s API.

I think Thomas also does some modeling as a side gig: if not, he should.

Thomas has written one of our most popular articles on Angular In Depth.

Additionally, he will be giving a half day workshop on Tuesday about Angular Animations with Ivy.

Other authors going to ng-conf

I personally will be there for both the workshop days and the full conference.

In addition to myself and the three speakers above, we have a few other Angular In Depth authors that will be there.

Alex Okrushko

Long time Angular In Depth author Alex Okrushko will be there. He writes some great stuff, especially about NgRx. If you haven’t already done so, you should read his article:
5 Tips to improve User Experience of your Angular app with NgRx

Alex and his oldest son at the Ontario Science Center — that’s Alex with the beard.

Alex is a Software Engineer at Google where he works on the Firebase Console. In addition to getting to play with Firebase all day, he is also a contributor and maintainer for NgRx.

He lives in Toronto with his wife, their three little kids, and a minivan.

Wes Grimes

Wes Grimes will be there the entire week. Check out his detailed article:
Building an AOT Friendly Dynamic Content Outlet in Angular

Cool glasses Wes!

Wes is a lead software engineer specializing in enterprise web apps. In his spare time, he loves mentoring new developers, tracking the weather, and contributing to open source projects like NgRx. If you follow him on Twitter you’re going to find a lot of pictures of food, sunsets, and tidbits about Angular.

Additionally at ng-conf, Wes is putting together a technical writers summit and round table. This will be a forum to discuss wins, pain points, tips, best practices, for writing technical articles. This is a chance for all folks, experienced and non-experienced writers alike, and even those looking to getting into writing to join and be a part of it. For more information, hit Wes up on twitter: @wesgrimes

Nikita Poltoratsky

In addition to writing for Angular In Depth, Nikita Poltoratsky has also written an article for the Angular Blog. He knows a ton about the Component Dev Kit (CDK).

Nikita shaved his beard two days before this photo. He is afraid it gives him too much of a baby-face so he will be growing it out again for ng-conf.

Nikita is a Developer Advocate at Akveo. He is passionate about sharing knowledge and digging into the depths of technologies. Additionally, he loves open source and is on the Nebular and Ngx-Admin team. He lives in Minsk, Belarus.

Talk to us!

We hope to see you there at ng-conf and we want to hear from you.

Make sure to say hello to us while you are there and get your very own Angular In Depth logo sticker.

We would love to hear what you like about Angular In Depth and talk about what topics interest you. But, we would especially like to hear how we can get better and make Angular In Depth the best resource possible.

Let us know

If you will be there, feel free to let us know by responding to this article. See you there!
