Your Life Fits Your Spirit
Your spirit will shrink to fit your life if you let it.
Artists work with imagination, it’s their main tool. But everybody works with imagination. It’s just that if you have stereotyped dreams, you can become the victim of tropes and images that aren’t even yours. Your culture feeds your imagination with cheap, sugary dreams that you don’t realize are stupid and dangerous for your life.
Imagination can be playful, inventive and full of joy, or depressed and small.
Dreams and concepts create physical reality, set the tone and build the stage for your life. Only your moment-to-moment awareness stands between you and having a false life foisted on you by your surroundings and tribe, whether large or small. If you just swallow the energies of your culture without question like a fish that doesn’t know it’s swimming in water, well, you’ve become an imitation human, a being that doesn’t suspect its own depths.
We all have this challenge, put to us by the world we live in. Seeing more comprehensively is always our task, requiring an open, meditative mind, one not caught up in the endless details of living in a physical world with its masks and charades.
Our guide is the imagination of the heart, not the analysing mind with its arsenal of strategies. Not ironclad answers and unquestioned experts; rather questioning with no rush to conclusions, looking, and looking again.
Our project is to develop intelligence, wisdom of the heart and relationship, connection.
We are taught how to use things, not how to love them. Somehow “things” has become living things in our limited fantasy of the world, and we think we can get away with that.
It won’t work. Tricks and tactics will only get us so far before there is payback, which is always a bitch.
Time to wake up and realise that we can’t survive by obsessing about survival. We have to give before we receive, we are responsible for the world because it is created by our hearts.
