When we first had the idea to create Animatic, our vision was that of a robust community of worldwide creators coming together around their love and passion for animation. Over the last several years, as we’ve been building and expanding Animatic, our vision, which started as an idea, has become a reality. As a result, we have come to meet and know many incredible people passionate about animation.

While the reach of Animatic has expanded to countries across the globe (over 600,000 animations made in the last 30 days!), it is the individual relationships with animators and creators that keeps us inspired and motivated. Seeing the work people make simply amazes us.

As we push ahead, we are focussed on taking the relationships we’ve built, and helping more people connect around animation. We are just getting started, and are driven to continue to advance our product, to listen carefully to what people have to say and think, and work diligently to deliver the best experience possible.

While it has been amazing to meet so many incredibly talented and creative people from all across the globe, what we think would be even better is if everyone we’ve met along the way could connect. Therefore, we’ll start to write and share more of the stories of the people behind Animatic. Our hope is this leads to better conversations around creativity, animation, and the world around us.

We have found connecting people to be a real joy, and when we can help other people expand their network, and inspire them, thats a win-win-win.

This week, we want to introduce you to 3 amazing creators from 3 different countries. Neeraja (India), Juwan (USA) and Yali (Israel). Each of them has a distinctly different style, and are using Animatic differently. Each of them is wildly talented in their own right, and deserving of acknowledgement for their craft and creativity.

Neeraja is from Bombay, and works as an Animation Designer in a Production Studio. She uses Animatic for making “boardomatics”, which is her initial process for making any film. She says “it is quick and easy to use and she prefers it to her software on her PC.” She typically “animates on Animatic, then uses Photoshop to refine the lines.” She works on her iPhone, and then sends the files as layered PSD’s to her iMac to clean it. You can see her work on her IG channel, our IG story, as well as her Behance portfolio.

Juwan is from Maryland. He uses Animatic mostly for fun and to get rough animation ideas out, and to practice. Juwan had some ideas for how we could make Animatic better, which we’re working on now!

Juwan often shares illustrations and characters, alongside rough animations. You have to see them to believe them.

Yali is from Israel, and currently lives in Jerusalem, where she is working on classical frame by frame animation, while working as a Layout and Posing artist on a full-length animation film. You can check out her work on her portfolio site here. Be sure to watch her show-reel, and explore all the incredible gif’s she has made. Yali has created and shared a series of beautiful animals, including a fish, some dogs, some birds, a bopping bunny, and of course, a cat.

We can’t wait to see what Neeraja, Juwan and Yali will create next!

Animatic can be downloaded for iOS and Android here.
