The Magic of Animation with Mario Menjivar

Just like any skill, animation is based on fundamentals and practice. To help reach and teach the animators of tomorrow, Animatic teamed up with world renowned animator Mario Menjivar (credits include The Lion King; Pocahontas; The Hunchback of Notre Dame; Mulan; Hercules; Tarzan; Atlantis: The Lost Empire; Treasure Planet; Looney Toons: Back in Action), to offer 4 episodes (8 lessons in all) of The Magic of Animation with Mario Menjivar.

With Mario as your personal instructor, you can learn many of the principles practiced at the top animation studios in the world. In Episode 1, Mario walks you through a Bouncing Ball, and the Pendulum. In these lessons, you learn about Squash and Stretch, as well as Spacing and Timing.

In Episode 2, Mario teaches the Walk Cycle, as well as Anticipation.

In Episode 3, you will learn about Overlapping and Follow through, as well as Secondary actions.

In Episode 4, Mario teaches Exaggeration, as well as Straight Ahead animation.

All you need is a mobile device (Smartphone or tablet), and the Animatic app to participate. No prior animation experience is necessary!
